In addition to my research, I consult for clients in education and beyond on human-centered design and interactive media projects. Trained in design thinking at the d.school at Stanford, I facilitate professional development workshops and advise on client projects.
Design thinking is a process and set of mindsets that helps people and organizations identify and solve complex problems and develop surprising new points of view in the design of products, experiences, spaces, and services. It is “empathy-driven,” which means that design thinking privileges human insights drawn from interviews, observations, and other data-gathering approaches. This approach helps designers get farther than they would by drawing on their expertise alone.
